Vwede J. Obahor
VICE CHAIRMAN
His management experience spans from the filmmaking sector of Nigeria, the advertising industry, through safety [HSE], waste management, marketing, land-aerial and hydro graphic -surveys, underwater engineering, property management, the steel industry to the oil & gas sector within Nigeria and West Africa.
As one of the six founding fathers of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria [Nollywood], he is also a safety practitioner since 1981. ‘Vwede J. Obahor with over 30 years in management, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Benin and an MBA from the University of Sierra Leone with extensive experiences in project management, business development, and product and services marketing. While in Oando Plc (Nigeria) he spearheaded the re-launching of Oando Insecticide and managed the white products requirement for Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company [SNEPCo] and Shell Petroleum Development Company [SPDC], specialty products development and was involved in the export of Oando Lubricants. He managed the first lubricant supply Automotive Transmission Fluid [ATF] to United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas [LPG] supply contracts for United Nations Mission in Liberia on behalf of Oando Sierra Leone, and subsequently Oando Liberia Inc. which he initiated and executed its incorporation in February 2004 in Monrovia and was made its President until 2008.
‘Vwede J. Obahor is a motivational speaker and a Growthwheel certified Business Advisor, a published Poet, Screenwriter, Producer, Director, and critic. His project and executive management as well as product marketing and consultancy skills are some of his many life’s facets. He is a fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers [President 2013/2014 Nigeria Chapter], a member of the Institute of Safety Professionals, of Nigeria, an associate member of the Certified Institute of Shipping and a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management amongst other professional bodies.
An avid entrepreneur, currently residing in Canada, where he is a member of the Burlington Inclusivity Advisory Committee, and Halton Region Accessibility Advisory Committee as well as being the Board of Directors’ Vice Chair of Nigerian Canadian Association within the G.T.A. in Ontario.
